'Growing up in Alaska, and then spending most of my life in the Pacific Northwest- being outdoors has become not only my favorite past-time, but a necessity for my soul. Photography came to me as side effect of filmmaking, which my career aspirations are pointed toward. However, it is quickly becoming a much larger part of my life and creative expression than I had anticipated. The difference with filmmaking for me is the lack of control. With filming you try to plan as much as you can to capture what you need, but with photography, especially when you are out exploring, almost everything is out of your control and it's up to you to be there for that moment, and simply click the button. It's a symbiotic relationship between the unpredictable world we live in, and my own attention and timing within that world. That's what keeps me going out, time and time again' - Evan
